Lakeside Camping Vol. 1

1. Download the JJ Groove Pack and unzip it. You will then find two folders;

“Lakeside Camping Vol. 1 (JJ Groove Packs)” AND “SSD Lakeside Camping 1.lib”

Both folders contain the same MIDI files, the “SSD” folders are just named differently so they can be accessed in the SSD 5 groove library.

2. To play the MIDI grooves first load up your DAW and drum sampler. After that, locate the JJ MIDI Groove Pack you downloaded and drag the MIDI files into the audio editing pane.

3. You can also copy the JJ MIDI Groove Pack folders directly to your drum samplers groove libraries. The packs are fully compatible with popular samplers such as GetGood Drums, SSD 5, EZ Drummer 2, and Superior Drummer 3.

This is the recommended way to use these MIDI packs as it allows you to easily preview the grooves and makes your workflow more efficient.

You can find instructions for integrating the packs with GetGood Drums, SSD 5, EZ Drummer 2, and Superior Drummer 3 below.

JJ MIDI Groove Packs are mapped in General MIDI (GM). If the grooves sound off on your sampler, MIDI mapping is most likely the reason why.

The groove packs are good to go out of the box with Toontrack products (EZ Drummer, Superior Drummer) as they are mapped in GM.

Instructions on how to remap GetGood Drums and SSD 5 are found below. Don’t worry; it’s very quick and simple since there are readymade presets for it! All you have to do is load them.

The MIDI mapping chart used in the packs is found in the manual (included in each pack).

The pack also includes a GM mapping preset for SSD 5.

1. Navigate to the folder you installed GGD to

2. Open the “MIDIFiles” folder and copy the JJ MIDI Groove Pack folder (“Lakeside Camping Vol. 1 (JJ Groove Packs)”) there

3. Launch your DAW and load GGD

4. In the GGD interface go to “SETTINGS” and “MAPPINGS”. Navigate to where it says “LOAD PRESET”, click the arrow and select “GM”. Now GGD is mapped in GM

5. The JJ MIDI Groove Pack will appear in GGD’s “GROOVE PLAYER”

1. Locate the SSD 5 Library installation folder (it’s called “SSD 5 Library”)

2. Copy the “SSD GM.iom” file from the “SSD Lakeside Camping 1.lib” folder of your JJ MIDI Groove Pack to the “IOMaps” folder (“\SSD5Library\IOMaps”)

3. Go back to the the SSD 5 Library installation folder and copy the “SSD Lakeside Camping.lib” folder from your JJ MIDI Groove Pack to the “Grooves” folder (“\SSD5Library\Grooves”)

4. Launch your DAW and load SSD 5

5. In the SSD 5 interface click “Map” and “Load Preset”. Load the “SSD GM.iom” preset. SSD 5 is now mapped in GM

6. You will find the JJ MIDI Groove Pack in the “Grooves” tab in the SSD 5 interface

1. Launch your DAW and load EZ Drummer 2

2. In the EZ Drummer interface go to “BROWSER” and click “Show user MIDI”

3. Click the arrow next to “User MIDI” and select “Open in Explorer” (or “Open in Finder” on Mac).

4. Copy the JJ MIDI Groove Pack folder (“Lakeside Camping Vol. 1 (JJ Groove Packs)”) to the “User MIDI” folder

5. Restart EZ Drummer and the JJ MIDI Groove Pack will appear in the “User MIDI” box

1. Launch your DAW and load Superior Drummer 3

2. In the Superior Drummer 3 interface go to “GROOVES”

3. Right click the “User MIDI” folder (underneath “User Libraries”) and select “Open in Explorer” (or “Open in Finder” on Mac).

4. Copy the JJ MIDI Groove Pack folder (“Lakeside Camping Vol. 1 (JJ Groove Packs)”) to the “User MIDI” folder

5. Restart Superior Drummer 3 and the JJ MIDI Groove Pack will appear in the “User MIDI” box
